FAQs

What is TINT?

TINT is a cloud-based content aggregator that allows you to pull in content from various sources: social media, RSS, and more. TINT’s web interface allows non-technical marketers to moderate and control content without having to manage all of the technical details. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to add fresh social content to your site so that you can focus on creating the best marketing experience for your customers.

Who is TINT for?

TINT is for marketing teams that need an easy way to display social content into websites and other marketing properties. We deal with changing social network API’s and provide easy-to-use ways for marketers to find the most valuable content.

How do I get started?

For developers, it’s easy to get started. To start creating your own custom experiences using TINT content, simply use our /feed endpoint to get access to your specific content hub’s list of posts. To create a content hub, or TINT, log into the platform here. For more details on how to create your first content hub, click here.

Examples of Experiences built with the TINT API

For customers that have development resources, the TINT API provides a great way to provide custom branded experiences. Click here to see our gallery of examples, or click below to get a taste of what’s possible:

What are your Rate Limits?

Currently, our Rate Limits are set to 5000 requests within 15-minute sliding windows.

How much does API access cost?

API access is included at no additional charge for all Enterprise plan subscribers, and also annual Performance plan customers. We work with clients to cater to and learn about their needs. Please email sales@tintup.com for more information, or click here to view our Pricing Page.

Is CORS supported?

We currently do not support CORS. Instead, we require that clients use JSONP to make GET requests from their web pages. A callback request parameter containing the name of your callback function must be supplied.

Do you provide an SLA?

Currently, we do not provide an SLA.

Authentication

Getting Started

All TINT API endpoints require authentication through the usage of API Tokens. To retrieve an API Token, please visit your dashboard’s Settings tab and generate an API Token. API Token generation will only be available to Enterprise plan and annual Performance plan subscribers.

Using The Token

All requests to the TINT API must be made using HTTPS, with the API Token displayed in your Settings panel. Input your personal API Token as a URL parameter after the TINT Name.

https://api.tintup.com/v1/feed/tint?api_token=sample_token

GET /feed/:tint_name / feed

This method allows users to retrieve the TINT feed.

Request

  • The request must include a valid api token.
